Limes Roof Top Wine Club

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending Lime's new Thursday event 'Roof Top Wine Club' with some other fellow bloggers. I wish I could share more pictures but I actually had such a great time catching up over the beautiful wine and canapes that I spent more time talking.

I think that's the great thing about this is that it's really a nice low key way to catch up with friends simply before the working week winds down. A chance to just to talk about anything while enjoying some great local and international wines and cheeses. All of which I think were pretty amazing.

Here is a little more info I received about the event.

Limes Hotel and Roof Top Bar have launched their Thursday night Roof Top Wine Club for those looking to hold a casual, mid-week event or social outing.

Held every Thursday from 6pm-8pm, parties can hold a networking or social event, work party or club outing on Limes’ Roof Top overlooking Brisbane’s city lights while tasting an assortment of wines and tapas.

Functions Manager Sarah Hulse has found that with so many businesses in and around the Valley precinct, more and more people are looking for a place to hold casual after-work drinks or an informal networking event.

“Our Roof Top Wine Club is a little bit fun and suited to those looking for an informal option for a work function or a relaxed night out mid-week with friends.”

At $39 per head, the two-hour package must be booked 48 hours in advance and requires a minimum of four people.

“Groups have the luxury of reserved seating as well as four assorted wines of the season, house made tapas and selected canapés.

Places are limited so make sure you book in advance for your spot at Limes Hotel’s Roof Top Wine Club for your casual mid-week catch-up.

Bookings can be made by calling Limes Hotel on 3852 9000.

Cease and Desist

Now it wasn't that long ago that I didn't actually drink coffee. However I was educated on the beauty of quality coffee by some of the amazing coffee shops in Brisbane. So it's a sad realisation my body is sending me some kind of cease and desist notice over coffee consumption. Much like I was in denial about refined sugar and simple carbs effecting my hypoglycaemia, I have been much the same about coffee.

It seems almost cruel now that I am really starting to enjoy beautiful single origins from some of my favourite places like Bunker, Cup and Cleanskin... I realise my body just can't handle even one cup every now and again. I already knew that coffee was bad for people with blood sugar issues but I honestly thought a couple of cups a week doesn't hurt... Wrong.

I cut back my coffee consumption a couple of weeks back limiting myself to 1 coffee a week to see what happened as I had a slight inclination it was having an adverse effect on me. The day that I did choose to drink it in the morning I noticed an increase in food cravings, shakiness, dizziness, anxiety all well into the evening and just a general unwell feeling. The coffee free days though were free of such afflictions.

I think the biggest thing I've learnt from the 12wbt is really listening to your body. I've heard my body cry out about this for a while and had been ignoring it. The fact is it is derailing me from the 12wbt by effecting my training, diet and concentration. As much as I love coffee it's going to be one of those things I just need to say no to. I'm hop[ing once I get to where I want to be health and fitness wise as well as body weight I can have the odd cup of coffee now and again. For now though it's a sad goodbye :(

And of course a farewell montage for good times sake.

Love these!

Cards from Sourced Grocer which I'm in love with. I look at this quite often and find it really motivating. New mantra here in the Itty household.
